Keith Horne is a highly talented bassist (also vocalist, guitarist , pedal steel player and drummer)! Keith is admittedly a right-handed person, but when he learned to play guitar he found it easier to play left-handed. When he started playing bass, he was using a friends bass which he couldn’t restring because it wasn’t his. So he just flipped it and played it upside down. It has been his signature, and a mastery all of his career. His touring credits include Peter Frampton, Tanya Tucker, Waylon Jennings, Sons of the Desert, Trisha Yearwood, Lonestar, Ricky Van Shelton, and many others. He is also an award winning flay-picking guitar champion in his home state of Virginia. He has been heard by millions of people on the David Letterman show, Jay Leno, and Austin City Limits. Mike began playing bass at the age of 40 years old after being inspired by Zydeco bass player Charlie Wooten in Atlanta. He purchased a $300 bass and quickly realized he had found an instrument he loved to play. Fast forward to 1999 when he purchased his first Warrior, a 5 string spalted maple, likely one of the first 100 made by J.D. and is still his "go bass" when performing. Shortly after, he purchased a 5 string with a natural finish and from then on upgraded through trades with J. D. Mike has owned many Warrior basses, both a 4 and 5 string buckeye burl as well as a 6 string with mahogany top, and bought one of the first Bella 62’s, and also has a 5 string Isabella neck through, just to get a different feel. He has played his collection of Warrior basses with Atlanta area bands Out of the Basement Band, Blue Funky Daddies, Savannah Red, Sundown, Big Muddy, Headhunters, Eric Lee and with Bob Housami, a guitarist who played with Carlos Santana in the 80's.
